Some people love going to museums, while others really hate it and would rather stay at home, enjoying their favourite TV shows. So museums are being seen as out-of-date and boring by today’s young people. I have just returned to the U after travelling around the USA. While I was there, I visited lots of museums. I must say, museums are educational, either to develop nowledge learned at school, or to improve nowledge of other cultures.
In Chicago, we visited the world-famous Art Institute of Chicago. It was full of paintings, drawings and sculptures by a large number of artists, such as Picasso, Monet, Matisse and Dali. There was a miture of traditional and modern art.
When we were in Washington D.C., we visited a few of the Smithsonian museums. These are all free to visitors, which is great if you just want to see a few things, and not spend all day inside. The Air and Space Museum was especially good it had lots of planes on show, interesting information and also some interactive (互动) parts. We also went to the National U. S. Holocaust (纳粹大) Memorial Museum. Naturally, it was sad to read about the horrors which influenced so many people in World War II. However, it was also interesting to read the stories of those who survived the Holocaust, as well as those who helped others.
I also found the 9/11 Memorial and Museum to be of great interest. This museum is for those who lost their lives, as well as their families, when the Twin Towers in New Yor City were attaced by terrorists in 2001. It tells you how the terrorists planned the attac and what happened as a result of their actions. Surviving pieces of the towers are shown in the museum. It was a truly meaningful visit, which made me treasure my own life more.
I thin museums play an important role in realiing historical importance for future people. Whatever your interests are, there may be a museum for you. You can visit wawor (蜡像) museums to see models of famous people, science museums for an interactive visit and a little bit more! Best of all, if you’re ever in the U, many of them are free!
66. The first paragraph tells us that _____________. . A. people of all ages love going to museums B. trips to museums are always very tiring C. most museums in the USA are outdated D. some young people find museums boring
67. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? A. There are a lot of interactive parts in wawor museums.
B. Art Institute of Chicago has a miture of traditional and modern art.
C. You’d better read the stories before visiting the holocaust Memorial Museum. D. The Air and Space Museum shows the twin towers were attaced by terrorists. 68. What does the underlined word “terrorists” mean in paragragh 4? A. 绑匪
B.
C. 窃贼 D. 抢劫犯
69. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Future people have the duty to protect museums. B. Visiting 9/11 Memorial and Museum is educational. C. All the museums around the world are free for students. D. Taing photos is allowed in the Smithsonian museums. 70. What is the writer’s opinion towards museums? A. She suggests going to museums. B. She warns of the problems of museums. C. Most high schools in the United States publish a yearboo once a year, usually in spring. It is a record of the school year—a “boo of memories” for the students.
Inside a yearboo is each student’s photo. The seniors are graduating soon, and their photos appear first. Net are the juniors. They are one year behind the seniors. The yearboo also has photos and descriptions of many activities. These are activities that students do after school, such as the chess club and Spanish club. There is even a yearboo club. Students in this club write, design and tae photos all year for the yearboo.
In the yearboo, some students receive special titles. The seniors vote and choose the “class clown” (a funny student), the “most liely to succeed” (a student who got the best grades), and the “best dressed” (a student with a good fashion sense). There are also other awards.
Students usually sign each other’s yearboos. This is especially important for the seniors because they are graduating. Students write notes to each other, such as, “We had a lot of fun,” or “I’ll never forget you.” They also write about the fun and funny eperiences they shared in school together.

Yes, you can get a job without it, but if you compete with other top candidates(候选人), following up can sometimes help you when the other candidate doesn’t. Here’s how to follow up well

Find out their timeline. Hopefully, you ased about their timeline in the interview itself, but if you didn’t, follow up within a wee to strengthen your interest and politely as what they epect their timeline for a decision to be.
Be patient. Commonly, job seeers(求职者) are too worried about the result. It needn’t loo worried to epress your interest in the job or chec in to as about the timeline.
Don’t be nervous if you don’t hear from them at once. The hiring process(招聘流程) often taes longer than a candidate would lie, maybe the decision maers are out of town. If you miss the time they told you to hear something, it’s unnecessary to be nervous. Hiring often ends up taing longer than epected.
